Summer is quickly approaching, which means now is the time to start thinking about your kiddo’s summer plans. Austin has dozens of summer activities ranging from an afternoon of fun to day camp and even sleep-away camp. We’ve gathered a list of our favorite local summer camp programs to keep your kids happy and engaged this summer.
Earth Native Wilderness School
This unique outdoor nature camp gets kids outside exploring, connecting, and learning old school style. Earth Native taps into innate child’s passions to inspire learning and outdoor play that leads to adventure and deep longterm connections to the outdoors. The day camp offers two locations at McKinney Falls State Park and Walnut Creek Metro Park. Older campers have the opportunity to learn survival skills at the overnight camp in Bastrop.

Camp Trinity
Have multiple children with varying interests? At Camp Trinity, kids can choose from 18 engaging and adventurous camps, spanning every interest: STEAM, theme, adventure, sport, and design. The camp offers morning, afternoon, and full-day programs all of which utilize Trinity’s welcoming 21-acre campus nestled in West Lake Hills.

Lone Star Leadership Academy
Gifted students develop their leadership skills while learning about the history and present of the great state of Texas through visits to museums and other historic sites. During camp, young leaders travel to Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin/San Antonio, or Houston/Galveston for a week of fun, learning, leadership development, and visits to significant Texas sites.

Camp Fire at Camp Balcones
Camp Fire’s Summer STEM day camp sparks curiosity and inspires learning. This program offers campers the opportunity to hike, swim, learn archery, and discover nature. Each week features a different STEM theme including Week of Wings, Camping 101, Shark Week, and more. Transportation is available if scheduled in advance.
