margaritas

Any good Austinite should know that you don’t need a holiday to drink a margarita. With dozens of incredible, one-of-a-kind restaurants in our city, it can be difficult to say who serves up the best margarita. We’ve taken the trouble out of deciding by gathering a list of some of our favorite margaritas in town.

Matt’s El Rancho

Everything on Matt’s menu delivers, but their classic margarita is a crowd-pleaser every time. Although you will most likely have to wait for your table, a couple of margaritas and a Bob will make time fly by.

Maudie’s Tex Mex

A local favorite, Maudie’s convenient locations and consistently good food have secured it a top spot on our list of best margaritas. You can’t go wrong with the classic, but we love to sample their specialty flavors.

Polvos

With more than nine margaritas to choose from, Polvos has something for everyone. We especially love that they’re offered the glass and by the pitcher.

Fonda San Miguel

For something a little more dressed up, Fonda San Miguel’s margaritas have an elegant twist. We love the Numero Uno margarita that’s perfectly sweetened with agave nectar.

La Condesa

A great date-night spot and even better margarita, La Condesa’s classic margarita an easy go-to. Though the flavors are classic, the presentation is not with its cactus lemongrass-salted rim.

Austin’s rich culinary culture is one of the many things that brings our city together. As we continue to practice safe social distancing and slowly return to our normal lives, let’s find ways to support the local establishments so that we can soon visit them again for generations to come.
