As the city continues to grow, so does its list of great coffee shops. We’ve found that each Austin neighborhood is home to a shop or two that is especially unique. So many options make it nearly impossible to visit each one, so we’ve gathered a few of our favorites to help give you a headstart.
Mañana – SoCo & Travis Heights
This bright and chic coffee spot blends in seamlessly with its South Congress Hotel neighbor. Although seating is limited, the shared courtyard offers the opportunity to catch some rays on a sunny day and makes for the perfect pitstop while exploring SoCo. The cafe’s menu features traditional caffeinated offerings as well as fresh juices and pastries baked by Amanda Rockman and Lindsay Flagg.
Houndstooth – Rosedale & Brykerwoods
With several locations throughout the city, Houndstooth has become a coffee staple for many residents. The Rosedale/Brykerwoods location offers patrons a contemporary space to work or chat with friends. We recommend grabbing a coffee to go and enjoying breakfast al fresco on Tacodeli’s ample patio.
Caffe Medici – Clarksville
In Clarksville fashion, Caffe Medici is nestled in an old house on quaint and quiet West Lynn St. An Austin staple since 2006, Caffe Medici boasts traditional coffee drinks as well as a delicious daily list of snacks and small plates. The cozy space is perfect for working remotely or grabbing a quick coffee to go.
Jo’s Coffee – Downtown
Jo’s SoCo location has engraved a permanent place in Austin’s history, but let’s not forget about their Second Street District location. The local favorite offers an extensive food and beverage menu that is sure to please. Their central location serves as a great meeting point for lunch or the perfect coffee pitstop during a day full of errands.
Bennu Coffee – East Austin
Bennu’s east side location has long been an acclaimed hotspot for Austinites burning the midnight oil. The coffee shop’s cozy and quiet atmosphere makes for a perfect work environment and the large front patio is great for a casual coffee date. As the founders of Chameleon Cold Brew, Bennu serves up some seriously delicious drinks.
