Aubrey Blocker, a native Austonian, is an outgoing and conscientious residential real estate professional that works closely with individuals to buy, sell, or lease their homes in the greater Austin area. Her familiarity with the Austin area affords her a deep understanding of key neighborhoods, school districts, and attractions that is rare in a young real estate professional. Aubrey is well versed in architecture and landscape, has a keen eye for design, and an affinity towards the creative and offbeat that guarantees an individualized buying experience.
How did you get started in real estate?
I was born in a family of real estate brokers, so in some respects, my interest in real estate came naturally. In high-school I completed my senior internship with Roxan Coffman Properties and continued to work on a part time basis throughout my time at The University of Texas. I also have a real love for art and architecture and real estate is a fulfilling way to experience and express those interests.
What is something clients would be surprised to know about you?
I am an avid reader and especially love Russian literature. Along with that, I love cheesy 80’s rock music… I even named my dog Joan Jett.
How do you like to spend your time outdoors?
I can never get enough time on our lakes, whether I am surfing or just cruising. I also enjoy walking and running my dog on the Lady Bird Lake trail and around the Greenbelt. A nice glass of wine or mug of matcha on a patio with friends doesn’t hurt.
What is your favorite neighborhood?
I have lived all over Austin. I grew up in Pemberton, moved to downtown, then Westlake Hills, Tarrytown, UT campus, and now live downtown once again. Ultimately, it would be hard for me to pick a favorite. As more people arrive in Austin, the neighborhoods are changing and it is exciting to watch Austin hold onto its roots, while adapting to the realities of a big city.
What is your favorite event (or season) in Austin?
There is not really a bad season in Austin. However, the fall and the spring give us Austin City Limits and South by Southwest, two of my favorite events in Austin. October in Texas is a dream, there is something about the crisp mornings and cool evenings after a hot summer.
Best restaurant in Austin?
Justines! I love the East Side-vibe and the energy in the restaurant is unmatched.
